I think it would be odd to see Charr and Human anywhere near each other without trying to tear at each other's throats. Wouldn't you agree that it'd be strange to just come out from the Fort Ranik mission, go to a city somewhere, and then see the very race you just finished slaughtering (Charr) trading equipment with a Human character?

What I would see as possible would be, with the addition of new chapters, to have race specific areas; Humans would obviously hold onto all of the places they had now, but the Charr would meet in "dark" or destroyed cities. Same thing would go with missions; normally, when Humans do the Gates of Kryta mission, you start out in a fairly lush Co-Op area to find other players at. But if Undeads became a playable race, then the Undeads would start out in a different area, such as the swamps from the end of the mission.

Something along those lines? I'm just throwing stuff out there for discussion.

Exactly what I meant when I first posted. Racial specific areas so that way it'd emphasize on more pvp options Top Charr guild vs Top Human guild. It would make lore researching and roleplaying and immersion that much more interesting. It would mean that much more to be the top guild for your race in order to compete in the Race guild war thing. Wouldn't you all agree?

Good point, but that doesn't mean people/creatures don't go against their own race. Look at the later missions against the White Mantle. While your suggestion seems logical, it doesn't fully rule out the other options.

Sorry, I'm listening to music (Keller Williams if you're interested) at the same time, and must have just glanced over that post. But yes, having Charr vs. Human GvG battles would be interesting...

The furthest that I've gotten to would be The Wilds mission, so I have yet to fight against the White Mantle, at least from what I remember. It has been a few weeks though, so maybe I'm just drawing a blank at the moment.

I agree with people/creatures being able to go against their own race (the Dark and Light side associated with Star Wars is the best example I can think of), but it still seems odd to me to have both "nice" Charr and "bad" Charr. The impression I get just from even looking at the Charr goes something like this:

"D***!! They look super bada**!"

But yes, I can see it possible that some Charr can have a conscience...

I agree that it is possible to have charrs have a good concience (sp) but however it would lose all the immersion and what not because those who don't care about roleplaying would all just choose charr and go to the human cities and socialize as if there was no war going on... If the devs make it like that err.... there would be a sort of uncompetitive feeling to it.

They could have KOS NPC's (Kill on Sight) in cities, and not allow certain races into certain cities. Also:

I like it. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm all for different races to play, but I just hope there is more of a reason to them if they are added than just giving more visual options than human.
This game is based on skill (I havn't played it yet, but I have read it many times.Playing the last BWE next weekend ). Giving a certain race attributes over another is less friendly than a class-to-class balance. I have seen it done it EQOA (EverQuest Online Adventures on PS2), and that game is probably 50% balanced, even though its been out for two years. Maybe GW can make it work, but I don't think its worth the time put into it, for it could be put towards other content that looks more promissing.

We are slowly but surely turning this into every other mmorpg...I would rather the game stayed the way it was without the usual dwarf/human/elf/ogre combo, it gets boring after awhile. We could make the acception for dwarfs and humans though because they are two key races in the game already.

Yes, that would be interesting. They could have guards attack any "evil" race in "good" cities, but "good" races couldnt group with "evil" and vice-versa. If met outside cities, it could be open PVP. (I dont know how PVP works, but Im assuming you know its coming instead of a surprise?). Could get messy, though, with complaints and all. Guild vs Guild seems promising enough, throwing race in makes it too complicated, especially if it was my way . PvE race wars also seems very interesting.

Let players get the game down before you poor five more major updates every two minutes, people wont be able to keep up.

I'd too would enjoy playing a Charr race and have it for mainly GvG events. I'd like to see RvR maps where its missions where 4-5 groups on each side battle it out to win.

It'd be cool if there was certain terrorities (if this was added). Like if a human group enters Charr area, the group is capable of receiving a surprise ambush by NPC Charrs.

I already see a major flaw in this; community is very fragile in a game and RvR can cause a lot of tension between players. Plus they would have to create a whole new system for Charrs and it really wouldn't be worth it.

That's not my point. My point is that the races are there to really give more insight to the world and not just to please people who want to look different.

Maybe playing a dwarf could be a special bonus after hitting a high level or finding a special item. Just the ability to create one would be good enough for me. I like the appearance and would not care for any special attributes.
